Shree Ram Janmbhoomi

Shree Ram Janmbhoomi

The birthplace of Lord Ram, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is the holiest site in Ayodhya. The grand Ram Mandir is under construction and is expected to be a major spiritual and cultural center.

Hanuman Garhi

A famous temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located on a hilltop. Devotees believe that Hanumanji guards Ayodhya, and visiting this temple before Ram Janmabhoomi is auspicious.

Dashrath Mahal

The royal palace of King Dashrath, father of Lord Ram. It is a beautiful structure with grand archways and houses idols of Ram, Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughan.

Kanak Bhawan

Also known as Sone Ka Mandir, Kanak Bhawan is a gift to Goddess Sita from Kaikeyi. The temple is famous for its stunning gold-plated idols of Ram and Sita.

Ram Ki Paidi

A series of sacred ghats on the banks of River Saryu, where devotees take a holy dip. It is beautifully lit in the evening and a great place for spiritual reflection.

Nageshwar Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is one of the oldest in Ayodhya. It is believed that worshiping here fulfills wishes and removes negative energies.

Treta Ka Thakur

A sacred temple where Lord Ram’s Ashwamedha Yajna took place. The temple houses black stone idols of Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, and Bharat.

Mani Parvat

A small hill believed to be a fragment of the Sanjeevani Booti that Lord Hanuman carried from the Himalayas. It offers a panoramic view of Ayodhya.

Chhoti Devkali Mandir

Dedicated to Goddess Devkali, the family deity of Lord Ram. It is believed that King Dashrath worshipped here for the well-being of his sons.

Sita Ki Rasoi

A symbolic kitchen of Goddess Sita, located near Ram Janmabhoomi. It houses utensils and idols of Sita, Ram, and his brothers, representing their royal life.

Surya Kund

A sacred water tank dedicated to Lord Surya (Sun God), where devotees take a holy dip for spiritual purification. It is believed that Lord Ram performed Surya Arghya (offering water to the Sun) here.

Guptar Ghat

Located on the banks of the Saryu River, this is where Lord Ram is believed to have taken Jal Samadhi (left the earthly realm). The serene ghat is a major pilgrimage site for meditation and prayers.

Bharat Kund

Situated in Nandigram, Bharat Kund is associated with Bharat, the brother of Lord Ram, who ruled Ayodhya from here during Ram’s exile. Devotees visit to seek Bharat’s devotion and sacrifice.

Shree Kashi Viswanath Mandir

Shree Kashi Vishwanath Mandir 🕉️🔱

One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the spiritual heart of Varanasi. Devotees believe that a visit to this temple grants moksha (liberation). The temple’s golden spire is an iconic symbol of the city.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir

Established by Tulsidas, this famous Hanuman temple is believed to remove all obstacles ("Sankat Mochan"). The Besan Ke Laddoo offered here are considered Hanumanji’s favorite prasad. It is also known for its annual music festival.

Kaal Bhairav Mandir

Dedicated to Kaal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva, this temple is known as the "Kotwal of Kashi" (protector of Varanasi). Devotees offer liquor as prasad, a rare practice in Hindu temples. It is believed that no one can stay in Kashi without his permission.

Dashashwamedh Ghat

The most famous ghat in Varanasi, known for its grand Ganga Aarti performed every evening. It is believed that Lord Brahma performed a ten-horse yajna (Dashashwamedh Yajna) here. The atmosphere is spiritual and mesmerizing.

Bharat Mata Temple

Unlike traditional temples, this temple does not have a deity but features a relief map of India carved in marble. It was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi and symbolizes national unity and patriotism.

Durga Kund Mandir

Dedicated to Goddess Durga, this temple is famous for its red-colored structure and an adjacent holy pond (Kund). It is believed that the idol of Durga appeared on its own (Swayambhu) and is highly revered.

Banaras Hindu University

One of Asia’s largest universities, BHU is home to the New Vishwanath Temple, modeled after the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. The Bharat Kala Bhavan Museum inside the campus houses rare paintings, sculptures, and manuscripts.

Tulsi Manas Temple

This temple is dedicated to Lord Ram and is built at the spot where Tulsidas wrote the Ramcharitmanas. The walls are inscribed with verses from the epic, making it a sacred literary landmark.

Sarnath

One of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. It houses the Dhamek Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, and several ancient monasteries.

Assi Ghat

A peaceful and spiritual ghat where the Ganga meets the Assi River. It is popular among pilgrims, yogis, and tourists for its serene atmosphere, morning Ganga Aarti, and meditation sessions.

Manikarnika Ghat

One of the oldest and most sacred cremation ghats, it is believed that cremation here grants moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). According to legend, Goddess Parvati’s earring (Manikarnika) fell here, making it a site of divine energy.

Ramnagar Fort

Located on the banks of the Ganga, this 18th-century fort was the residence of the King of Banaras. It houses a museum with rare vintage cars, royal costumes, weapons, and manuscripts. The fort provides a picturesque view of the river.

New Vishwanath Temple (Birla Temple)

Situated inside BHU, this grand temple is a replica of the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. Built by the Birla family, it features intricate marble carvings and is open to people of all religions. It offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere away from the city's hustle.
